Dr Tara Mayhew
Tara has 20 years of dedicated experience in speech and language therapy. She is highly qualified specialist holding a PhD in Speech Science. Her career has focused on advancing communication outcomes for children across diverse needs and abilities, with a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and inclusive educational support.
Tara has successfully led the Sure Start programme within a Primary Care Trust, driving early-intervention initiatives and ensuring coordinated, family-centred services for young children as well as providing speech and language services for the NHS Primary Care Trust across the borough. Her professional journey has included extensive clinical work with children with a wide range of special educational needs, including communication disorders, developmental delays, autism spectrum conditions, and learning difficulties.
Tara has a vast amount of experience and specialist skills and she brings a passionate view about empowering others to support communication development.
She has delivered specialist training programmes across schools, early-years settings, and educational institutions. Her training covers key areas of communication development, therapeutic strategies, and activity-based approaches to supporting speech and language, enabling teachers, parents, and support staff to build children’s communication confidence and skills.
With Tara’s dedication, research-driven, and commitment to inclusive practice, she can provide support to your organisation to help you achieve your early intervention goals, help various teams work more collaboratively and ensure that there are clear strategic goals centred around quality outcomes for your clients.
Darius Mayhew (MCMI, SIRM)
Darius is an accomplished business leader with more than 25 years of experience across operations, risk management, transformation, governance, and operational finance. His career spans multiple sectors including financial services, health, education, sport, retail, insurance, and emerging technology start-ups, where he has consistently delivered strategic value and operational excellence.
With deep expertise in operational financial management, international offshoring oversight, and technical risk management, Darius has supported large-scale transformation programmes, driving sustainable change and organisational resilience. His strong track record in building effective control frameworks and embedding best-practice governance makes him a trusted advisor to Boards, CEOs, and senior leadership teams.
Darius is also a recognised authority in the field of risk management. He serves as a Technical Specialist at the Institute of Risk Management and is the Principal Examiner for the organisation’s Operational Risk Management qualification, shaping professional standards and capability development across the industry.
With extensive Board-level exposure and a proven ability to strengthen governance, optimise operations, and guide strategic decision-making, Darius brings a rare combination of technical expertise, commercial insight, and leadership capability.
